ZANIS—Mbala District Commissioner, Kedrick Sikombe has commended government for constructing the first ever health post in Chipoka area in Mbala district.
Mr. Sikombe said the construction of the health post will ease the challenges that people in the area were facing to access health services.
Mr. Sikombe explained that before the construction of the health post, people in Chipoka used to travel long distances to Nsokolo and Isofu health centres to access health services.
He said government of President Edgar Lungu has however shown commitment in addressing the challenges by constructing more health posts which are closer to the people as possible.
Mr. Sikombe said this when he officially commissioned the Chipoka rural health post in Mbala which is among the 650 health facilities government is constructing across the country.
And, speaking at the same occasion, Patriotic Front (PF) Lwandi Ward Councilor, Alfred Ntuntu has also thanked government for constructing a health centre in his ward.
Mr. Ntuntu stated that there has never been a health centre in Chipoka since independence the situation which was forcing people in the area especially women to cover long distances to the Nsokolo to access medical services.
The commissioning of the health post was also attended by officials from various government departments and the community.
