While the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) is set to increase to K40 million in the 2026 proposed budget, Mungwi Town Council is actively utilizing the current K36.1 million allocation to bring tangible development to Mungwi district.
In a recent boost to education infrastructure, the local authority procured 50 banker beds for Kanyanta STEM Secondary School, a project funded through the 2025 CDF at a cost of K380,000.
The council’s efforts extend beyond Kanyanta. At Mulambe School, a 1×2 classroom block has been constructed at a cost of K450,000.
Furthermore, infrastructure development has worked wonders for the people of Nseluka, where the Chamfubu bridge has been rehabilitated for K250,000.
Northern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms.Beauty Undi-Phiri who handed over all the projects, said government’s continued commitment to uplifting citizens’ lives has been witnessed through various initiatives that bring development closer to the people.
This progress, driven by CDF, is strengthening infrastructure and improving service delivery across the constituency.
