Senga Hill District in Northern Province has officially received 16 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects, commissioned by Northern Province Minister Hon. Leonard Mbao, MP.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hon. Mbao emphasized that the commissioning of these projects goes beyond infrastructure—it is about transforming lives, unlocking opportunities, and strengthening communities through development.
A key highlight among the projects is a major investment in road infrastructure, with the procurement of earth-moving equipment valued at K17.3 million. The equipment includes a grader, excavator, roller compactor, water bowser, and tipper truck. These machines will significantly improve the district’s feeder road network.
In the education sector, more than 7,100 desks were handed over, delivering on President Hakainde Hichilema’s promise that no child should sit on the floor while learning. Additionally, two 1×2 classroom blocks were commissioned at Kalukanya and Chiswela Primary Schools.
Health and sanitation have also received a boost. Hon. Mbao commissioned a newly constructed ablution block at Senga Hill Hospital, aimed at improving hygiene, sanitation, and infection control. At Mabwe Mission Hospital, he officially handed over a new X-ray laboratory to enhance diagnostic services.
Furthermore, mechanized boreholes have been installed and commissioned at Sindano Primary School, Mambwe Mission Secondary School, John Chivuta Primary School, and Shikulu Musonda Primary School, improving access to clean water.
Hon. Mbao reiterated that the CDF is a key vehicle for decentralization, equity, and meaningful development, empowering local communities and ensuring inclusive growth.
