Nsama District
Government has officially handed over four Constituency Development Fund (CDF)-financed infrastructure projects and disbursed 2025 CDF empowerment grants and loans totaling K6,094,200 to 91 cooperatives in Nsama District.
Under the 2024 CDF allocation, the following projects have been successfully completed and handed over to the community:
Munwa Health Post, constructed at a total cost of K409,443.40, 1×3 Classroom Block at Mupundu Primary School, constructed at a cost of
K789,358.85, Kampinda Police Post, built at a cost of K811,459.66 and mini mortuary at Nsama Rural Health Centre, completed at a cost ofK515,272.00.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Northern Province Permanent Secretary Mr. Bernard Mpundu said the handover of the projects is a clear testament to President Hakainde Hichilema’s unwavering commitment to
uplifting the lives of all Zambians through improved infrastructure and service delivery.
“Infrastructure is the backbone of economic and social development, hence the government’s continued investment in community-driven projects, “said Mr.Mpundu.
He noted that these new facilities will enhance access to healthcare and education while improving safety and security in the district.
During the same event, the Permanent Secretary also disbursed empowerment funds to support entrepreneurship and job creation:
58 clubs and cooperatives received grants totaling K2,320,000 while 33 cooperatives received loans amounting to K3,774,200.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to use the resources responsibly to create wealth, grow their businesses, and lift their families out of poverty.
The Permanent Secretary also issued a firm reminder that the usage of the funds will be strictly monitored under the Financial Management Act, and any misuse will attract serious penalties.
Nsama District Commissioner Steward Katele highlighted the significant impact of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) on the district.
Meanwhile, Senior Chief Nsama commended the government for its efforts in constructing various projects.
