Nsama General Hospital is nearing completion, with an impressive 95 percent completion of the project.
Northern Province Permanent Secretary Mr. Bernard Mpundu says he wants to see the hospital completed within a month, which will provide residents of Nsumbu, Nsama and nearby districts access to quality healthcare services.
Dring his inspection of the hospital’s progress in Nsama district, Mr. Mpundu emphasized the importance of completing the project on time saying it will significantly improve healthcare outcomes for the local community, who will benefit from modern facilities and equipment.
“We cannot continue working but every morning we are not seeing progress, you have done quite some good work here, but more needs to be done, said the Permanent Secretary”.
The Permanent Secretary said that the completion of Nsama General Hospital is part of a larger national effort to strengthen Zambia’s healthcare infrastructure across the country.
“I always say, this hospital is a blessing to the people of Nsumbu and Nsama because since GOD created this world, they have never had a hospital, this is the first of its kind, therefore everyone young and old, are waiting for the commissioning of this hospital, said Mr. Mpundu”.
And Acting Provincial Health Director Dr. Mayeya Mayeya said the hospital will not only address the immediate health needs of the community but also pave the way for more comprehensive health initiatives in the area.
Meanwhile Nsama district health director Dr. Vanaciol Banda mentioned that the facility’s completion would help alleviate financial constraints currently faced by the district, particularly in cases where patients must be referred to other districts for care.
