Sub Chief Mulala of Kaela Ward in Lupososhi District has thanked government for constructing a secondary school in the area.
The traditional leader said this is the first time the area has received a secondary school since Independence.
The sub chief disclosed that government has also deployed 17 teachers to the school.
He explained that the lack of secondary school in the area made it difficult for children in the area to complete their secondary education.
“Our area here in Mulala is still behind in terms of development but since this government came into power, we are slowly seeing some changes as we now even have 17 teachers at the secondary school.” He said.
Chief Mulala has also thanked government for the construction of a maternity annex that is expected to start soon.
“We are happy that a doctor will even be placed at the soon to be constructed maternity annex so that our women are well taken care of.” Said Chief Mulala.
The traditional leader said this when Northern Province Minister, Hon. Leonard Mbao who is inspecting developmental projects in the area, paid a courtesy call on him at his Palace.
He has however, called on government to put up network towers as the area does not have any.
“Government officers suffer a lot to send their work because there is no network and sometimes, I lag behind on many issues that the DC may want to involve me or any of my people. Therefore, through your office minister please help us to have even one network tower to ease the problems that the officers work due to lack of Internet.” He said.
He has since assured government that he shall support the work of government and is ready to support the work that government is doing.
And responding to the traditional leader, Northern Province Minister, Hon. Leonard Mbao disclosed that government is this year expected to put up over 200 towers country wide.
“Working together with you and the people here, we shall push to make sure that a network tower is put up in the area.” Said Hon. Mbao.
He further stated that government through Local government and Ministry of Infrastructure is set to work on roads in the province and Lupososhi District will benefit.
“Government will try to ensure that development is in all areas and here is no exception as long as we work together to actualize government’s vision for our country.” He said.
