Northern Province starts preparations for the country’s diamond jubilee celebrations.

Kasama—Northern Province has started preparations for the commemoration of the country’s diamond jubilee celebrations of independence.
Northern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Beauty Undi-Phiri officiated at the first preparatory meeting that was held at the provincial administration in Kasama.
The meeting was attended by members of the organization committees drawn from government institutions, the private sector, and the church.
And Ms Undi-Phiri has called on members of the organizing committee to identify the best practices and strategies that will enable the province to have a successful event.
Ms Phiri, who is also the provincial focal point for independence in Northern Province, has since tasked the committee to come up with plans and budget on how the province will commemorate the diamond jubilee.
The country will on 24th October this year celebrate 60 years of independence which is also referred to as diamond jubilee.
