Theme: “Invest in Women and Girls: Accelerate Progress”

Hon. Leonard Mbao, The Provincial Minister, Northern Province

Northern Province Minister, Hon. Leonard Mbao, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to improve the plight of women in the country.

Gracing this year’s International Women’s Day in Kasama district today, Mr Mbao said government has taken steps to empower women through the CDF (Constituency Development Fund) which has a component for youths and women.

Mr Mbao explained that realistic development cannot take place if women are not incorporated in the development agenda.

He has since urged women to harness opportunities set aside by the government to invest in different businesses in order to contribute to economic growth.
