*MINISTER MUNDUBILE ASSURES PEOPLE*

February 13, 2019 – *Four companies that signed their investment pledges during the November 2018 Northern Province Tourism and Investment Expo are expected to launch their projects at least by April this year to commence the execution of their various projects in the Province*.
And Northern Province Minister *Brain Mundubile* said today that at least 46,000 jobs would be created in Kalungwishi Farm block alone where *30 farmers including a Chinese investor with an initial investment of 1.5m US dollars are expected to break ground and commence implementing their projects in the next two months*
Speaking on Radio Mano by phone from Lusaka today, Hon. Mundubile who is also Mporokoso Lawmaker also assured the people of the province that Mikalile Investment was ready to commence the construction of a 20million US Dollar 4 Star Hotel , a shopping mall and conference facilities which would create 1,200 jobs, 500 of them permanent.
*He explained however that the delays many people have complained about by the investors to actualise their investment pledges and commence implementation since the Expo was only due to processes and procedures involved*
The Minister has meanwhile announced that a new Company to engage in *Ship Building* at Mpulungu Harbour was also expected to commence within the early part of this year.
*Among the investors expected to start implementing their projects in the region by April 2019 includes Mikalile investment , Choppies and an investor who would develop Mpulungu Harbour and commence the building of vessels as well as groups of farmers including a team of Agricultural experts from China*
Hon. Mundubile said projects of Tourism and Energy were also expected as soon as formalities were completed.
The Minister sited Luapula Province which held its Expo in 2017 saying, most investors started implementing their projects a year after the Expo *because its not an overnight thing*
*The Minister was responding to concerns the people of the province continued to raise as they wished to see instant benefits of the Tourism and Investment Expo held about 3 months ago between November 20 and 24 last year*
*Meanwhile Mr. Mundubile says Mohagony Air which launched its flights into Northern Province during the Expo last year would resume its services as soon as constructions to Kasama airport were completed*
He explained that the Airline had withdrawn to allow for the completion of expansions and improvements to the airport whose runway is still to be tarred and expanded to suit most of its planes expected to land at the facility.
